Happy Mother’s Day

One more Mother’s Day has gone by. I didn’t do much today. I simply sent my Mum a SMS wishing her a Happy Mother’s Day and thanking her for taking care of me all these years. It was nothing much, but I hope she feels my appreciation for her and my love for her too.

To all the mothers out there, I just want to thank each and everyone of you. You work hard all your life to provide for your family. You sacrificed the best part of your life and youth for us kids who sometimes take you for granted. Just remember that we love you and that we really appreciate all that you have done for us and the family.

To the mother of boyboy: Auntie, I know that you probably will never get to read this, but I still really want to thank you for bring him into this world. Thank you for being his mother and loving him as I know you did. Thank you.

Happy Valentine’s Day

It is the time of the year again when couples finding ways and means to express their love to their loved one and singles search desperately for a date. It is also the time of the year when advertisements about Valentine’s Day presents, meeting singles and roses comes popping up everywhere. For the past 19 years, Valentine’s Day never had much meaning to me because I was single then. Whenever someone tells me that it is Valentine’s Day, the only reaction (if you actually consider this to be a reaction) is,” Oh, okay.” However, at the start of this year, or more specifically, at the end of last year, I found someone really specially and I felt excited for the first time at the prospect of Valentine’s Day because I have someone special to share it with. However, due to some stuff, we cannot do so and it really saddens me. I think I will dread today. All around me, people are going all lovey-dovey, and it just reminds that we are not together right now. It hurts.

Right, enough of all these emotional stuff from me. Here are some superstitions about Valentine’s Day that I chanced upon. They are quite interesting, so I thought I would put it up to share with everyone. Here goes:
………………………………………………………………….

To be awoken by a kiss on Valentine’s Day is considered lucky.

By tradition, a young girl was supposed to eventually marry the first eligible male she met on Valentine’s Day.

In Great Britain, a women would write the name of her sweethearts on small scraps of paper which would be placed on clay marbles. The balls were dropped into water with the belief that whichever scrap of paper surfaced first would be the name of the man destined to be the future husband.

Pick a dandelion that has gone to seed. Take a deep breath and blow the seeds into the wind. Ount the seed that remain on the stem,. and that is the number of children you will have.

Seeing different animals on Valentine’s Day can result in different ways; seeing a goldfinch, you will marry a millionaire; seeing a robin, you will marry a crime fighter; seeing a dove, you will have a happy peaceful marriage. (Maybe it’s a good day to go to the zoo!)

………………………………………………………………….To all those lucky couples…

To all those looking for love…

To all those who, like me, are facing some sort of relationship problem…

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Merry Christmas!

Yesterday was Christmas Day and I had such a good time at my Eudora’s house. Let me tell you what happened.

I woke up at about 9.30 in the morning and started to bake the Eve Pudding immediately after brushing my teeth and washing my face. Then I changed into my clothes and went downstairs to get onto the cab which I have called for a little ealier, just before I came out of the house. When I reached Eudora’s house, she was out with her family for lunch and her maid let me in. I dumped the pudding in the kitchen and retired to Eudora’s room to read books while waiting for her to return. She came home shortly, and Priyangi came too. We played Cleudo (It is so fun. I am so getting this game, but definitely not the small one) and Taboo. We felt hungry so we went downstairs and had Priyangi’s Chocolate Mousse and my Eve Pudding. Priyangi’s Chocolate Mousse was absolutely fantastic. My Eve Pudding was not too bad too, except that it is a little too sweet (but Eudora’s Mum loved it!). Then we watched Outbreak and we had such fun analysing the story.

At about 6.45pm, Mariem the Princess is finally here. We had Canadian Pizza and I had six pieces. Then we went up stairs and exchanged Christmas presents and the latest happening in our lives. We stayed till about 9pm, when we caught a ride to Clementi MRT station from Priyangi’s Dad.

I did not sleep a wink last night, all thanks to Priyangi. She added some coffee powder into the Chocolate Mousse and I ate it without knowing it ( I only got to know about it as I was eating it, but it was too late). I am extremely sensitve to caffine. So, I tossed and turned in bed from 12am till 5 am. Thank you so much, Priyangi. At least I managed to survive the day!
